On November 26, 2021, the official opening of the second phase of SEC ‘Ostrov’, located in the very centre of Odessa at 2 Novoshchipnyii Ryad, took place.
The grand opening with a big entertainment program for visitors will take place after the stabilization of the pandemic situation and the lifting of quarantine restrictions.
Oksana Krashunska, director of SEC ‘Ostrov’: “In the modern world, a purchase in itself has no value without emotions; therefore, in the design of the shopping and entertainment center the emphasis is placed not only on the tenants’ shops, but also on the internal atmosphere, which emphasizes the importance of each visitor.
In addition, this Project reveals the talent of Odessans and the special originality of our city. The residents of our city implemented everything in the Project, from the development of the architectural concept, design, internal infrastructure and to the construction, repair and finishing works. We are confident that our “think local” approach will attract Odessans and city guests to SEC ‘Ostrov’."
Cushman & Wakefield, an international consulting company acting as the exclusive leasing agent of the Project, informed that there have been signed the lease agreements with ‘Silpo’ (2,463 sq m), LC Waikiki (1,611 sq m), ‘FLY KIDS’ (4,072 sq m), ‘Chudo Ostriv’ (608.5 sq m), ‘Librarium’ (637.8 sq m), ‘Sportmaster’ (1,489 sq m), ‘SPORTCITY’ (672 sq m), ‘New Balance’ (337.8 sq m), ‘Сolin’s’ (292 sq m), ‘Rozetka’ (203 sq m), ‘Intimissimi’ and ‘Calzedonia’ (68 sq m и 64 sq m, respectively), ‘Zolotyi Vik’ (87 sq m), ‘Apteka Gaevskogo’ (77.4 sq m), ‘OffTop’ (135 sq m), ‘JASMINE’ (132 sq m), ‘Luxoptica’ (54 sq m), ‘Sunday's Coffee’ (79.9 sq m).
Dmytro Dudar, senior agent of the retail agency and consultancy in Cushman & Wakefield Ukraine, said that lease agreements have been signed for 90% of the leased space, but not all tenants have opened their stores at the same time as the official opening of the Project. This was influenced by quarantine restrictions, but most of the tenants consider opening by the end of 2021.
Oksana Krashunska has also announced plans on the first phase of SEC ‘Ostrov’ reconstruction. “The Project does not stand still, we decided to start work on the reconstruction of the first phase of SEC ‘Ostrov’, which will be modernized and brought into line with the current requirements and standards of international and national trade operators. Thus, SEC ‘Ostrov’ will become the main central shopping and entertainment center of the city.”
