Cushman & Wakefield has become the exclusive leasing agent for SEC ‘Mercury’ in Odesa

The construction of a new shopping and entertainment center ‘Mercury’, which is scheduled to open at the end of 2021 in Odesa, is coming to an end. Cushman & Wakefield has become the exclusive leasing agent for SEC ‘Mercury’. Earlier C&W has carried out the analysis and the concept optimization of the mall, including changes in planning solutions.  

SEC ‘Mercury’ is located on 99V Semyon Paliya St. in one of the most densely populated areas of Odesa with high pedestrian and busy traffic flows, high density of modern high-rise buildings, and convenient access roads and interchanges. The name of the shopping and entertainment center comes from its location – the Mercury shopping district – the center of commerce and trade activity of the Suvorovsky district, which has long been known among Odesa residents.

The total area of ​​the mall is 27,300 sq. m GBA, and 21,300 sq. m GLA, front parking can accommodate 450 cars. In the building itself, everything is provided for comfortable shopping and pleasant relaxation for the whole family: a glass atrium, panoramic elevators that allow visitors to comfortably move between the 4 floors of the mall, wide galleries with shops, restaurants and cafes, a large grocery supermarket, and a children's entertainment center.

Kateryna Vesna, Head of retail agency and consultancy in Cushman & Wakefield Ukraine, stressed that SEC ‘Mercury’ has a significant potential due to its location in the very centre of dense residential development on one of the main roads of the Suvorov district of Odesa. “The most stable concepts in recent years have been district and regional shopping centers. Their development is gaining momentum now not only in Ukraine, in Europe this format is well developed and demonstrates high sales numbers. People’s social activity is moving closer to their place of residence, and the quarantine period has given an additional impetus to the development of shopping centers of this format, their attendance on weekdays is now comparable to the number of visits on weekends, since people's work has also moved closer to home," said Kateryna Vesna.
